In June 2010 I participated in a Sunday Showcase competition at The Bugle Boy listening room in La Grange, TX. I won that day and went on to the showcase shootout, and I brought backup with me: guitarist Daniel Wilson and Rock Star Flutist Sarah Jane Hargis. We didn't win that day, but we played like angels and I sang like one, too.
lyrics
Chorus:
We are the ones we've been waiting for We are the ones who make the change We are the ones we've been waiting for We are the ones who'll save the day
You've heard it said before, haven't you?
But did you stop and ask yourself what does it mean?
I cannot tell you
You will only know
When you look inside your heart and act on what you see
So this is only a suggestion
Or maybe it's a request
Look inside your heart and find the kernel of your quest Because
Chorus
(Instrumental)
We are the ones we've been waiting for
And we go...
Round and round and round and round and round and round and round we go (x4) When will we learn? (x6, each building in length, tonality, and intensity)
Every day in every way in every thing we do Right now we are learning
